Sneak Peek

Opening something new, getting ready for a show, a harvest or a big event? Invite us in for a behind-the-scenes look, and we'll share it with the Valley.

How it works

  1. Read the terms below and fill out the request. You agree to the terms before anything else.
  2. We pick visits that fit and reply with a date.
  3. We come by, take photos and learn your story.
  4. We write it up for this site, Facebook, Instagram and the newsletter, always labeled as a hosted visit.

Open to Ogden Valley and Weber County businesses, artists, farms, makers, nonprofits and event organizers. It's always free to be featured, and nobody pays to be chosen. Cooking in your kitchen? See Cook With Us.

Sneak Peek terms

Plain-language house rules. Agreeing to them is the first step of the request form.

Cost

  1. The host covers the full experience at no cost to us: admission, tickets, food, tastings, class fees or whatever the experience is.
  2. We may bring one guest, also at no cost.
  3. Local only: Ogden Valley and Weber County. Anything farther needs the host to cover travel, or we may decline.
  4. No payment either way. We don't pay you, and you don't pay us to be featured.

Our independence

  1. Sneak Peeks are never guaranteed coverage. We decide whether, when and how anything is published.
  2. Hosts don't approve or edit the story. We'll check facts with you (spelling, dates, prices, hours) before we post.
  3. Every Sneak Peek is labeled “Hosted at no cost by ___” so readers know.
  4. No gifts beyond the experience itself. A sample to taste is fine; free products, gift cards or extras to take home are declined or disclosed.

Photos and content

  1. We may photograph and record during the visit and use it on our site, Facebook, Instagram and newsletter, as our Terms describe.
  2. Hosts make sure their staff and guests are OK being photographed. No children's faces without a parent's OK.
  3. You're welcome to share our feature and photos with credit and a link back.

Scheduling and safety

  1. Offer 2 or 3 dates that work. Visits run about 1 to 2 hours.
  2. Either side can reschedule with notice. Two no-shows by a host and we stop scheduling.
  3. We may end a visit at any time. Home addresses are never published.

What's not eligible

  1. Political campaigns and candidates (they can use our Candidate Events page, equal for everyone).
  2. Developer or builder pitches. We're local support, not developer support.
  3. Sales presentations. Sneak Peeks are real experiences.
